In 1948, a group of sportsmen near the Fredonia area got together and decided to form a sportsmen’s club. The Harthegig was named after one of the last remaining Indians in the area. The club grounds consist of 33 acres in Coolspring and Jefferson Townships, our Clubhouse is in Coolspring Township. We have a 22 indoor range, 100 meter rifle range, trap field and a walk through course for Hunter - Trapper education classes. The club is very active in different events with some of the original founding members still attending monthly meetings. Club activities include NRA Junior Rifle Team as well as putting on a Hunter - Trapper Education class each year. In August we hold our Annul Family Fun Day open to the public. The Club has a various amount of turkey and deer feeders placed all over the area. Club meetings are held the first Monday of each month at 7:30 p.m. A newsletter is sent out to each member following the monthly meeting. New members are always welcome. Yearly dues are $20 for an individual and $25 for a sponsor member which entitles the member to use all facilities. To join, contact any of the officers or members.
